Submit all 6+ color palettes
Analogous - 2 to 4 colors that are next to each other.
Monochromatic - one base color and uses different shades and tones

Open up your soundwave document that you created last unit.
Follow along with the video to the left on creating gradients on the rest of the soundwave. Make sure the soundwave colors match the overall vibe of the song. You can even go and pay attention to the music video and what tones/colors they use.
Turn final product into teams as PDF or JPG
Objective:
Understand and apply different color schemes to express personality, emotion, and visual harmony.
Task:
Create 3 original characters or creatures, each based on a different color scheme:
Character 1 = Warm or cool colors
Character 2 = Complementary
Character 3 = Analogous
For each character:
Give them a name and a brief backstory or personality trait (e.g., “Blaze is a fiery dragon who lives in a volcano”). This will be written on your sketch page for that character. It can be short and sweet and to the point.
Use colors that match their “vibe” and clearly reflect the assigned color scheme.
Incorporate those colors in their clothing, accessories, environment, or body (if it’s a creature).
What should be turned in on TEAMS:
Pictures of your sketches of your characters (1 per character, so 3 in total)
An 8x10 document PER character. You should then be turning in an Illustrator file (file --> save as) + a JPG version of the character ( file --> export --> export as --> save as type JPEG).
So each character should have a .ai and .jpg version turned in
This means if you have 3 characters x 2 files per character = You should have 6 files turned in.
Students will understand and apply basic color theory and color schemes while learning to build and manipulate shapes in Adobe Illustrator to create visually effective and balanced graphic designs.
I will identify and describe basic color theory concepts, including the color wheel, primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
I will recognize and apply color schemes such as complementary, analogous, triadic, and monochromatic.
I will use color intentionally to create mood, emphasis, and visual harmony in my designs.
I will build and combine basic shapes in Adobe Illustrator using tools such as Shape Builder.
I will experiment with overlapping, layering, and aligning shapes to create balanced compositions.
I will apply my knowledge of color and shape to design original graphics that communicate a clear visual message.
I will practice using Illustrator tools to gain confidence and accuracy in my digital design skills.
2.1.1 Identify the applications of color, line, shape, texture, size, and value in samples of graphic work.
2.1.2 Analyze the use of color, line, shape, texture, size, and value in samples of graphic work.
