After watching this video, I want you to go onto google, dribble, pinterest, whatever you may choose for a search engine for artwork. And download 5 pieces of digital artwork showing GEOMETRIC line, and 5 pieces of digital artwork showing ORGANIC line. Put these examples into a PowerPoint presentation and turn in to TEAMS.

Start an Illustrator Document (Width: 1920 pixels x Height 1080 pixels)
Follow along with the video to the left. Making sure this is in black and white.
Turn this in as .AI file AND a PDF file

Evidence Project #3

Written Steps

Make an 8.5in x 11in vertical artboard (or letter)
Choose a font and type the letter of your first name e.g. 'T' for Taylor or 'J' for Josh
Make the font large so it fills the artboard, then hide the layer
Take a photo of your doodle design that we did the first week of class
Place image of Doodle Design on your artboard --> once you make your new document click file --> place and click your image.
Use the pen tool, line segment tool, and curve tool to trace your doodle design.
Vary the lines/strokes with color and size. When finished, hide the doodle design image layer.
Making sure the Letter is on top (in the layers, you can also right click the t --> arrange --> bring to front) select all and make a clipping mask
Export as a JPG or PDF (file --> export as --> save this in your LINE folder --> name this INITIAL--> Save as type select JPG or PDF --> click save.

Learning Target:

Students will create original digital artwork in Adobe Illustrator by transforming their hand-drawn sketches into vector illustrations. They will apply design elements such as line, shape, and value while learning to use Illustrator tools like the Pen Tool, Pencil Tool, Curvature Tool, Width Tool, Type Tool, and Clipping Masks to construct and refine their final compositions.

Learning Intentions:

I will differentiate between geometric, organic, zigzag, horizontal, and vertical lines and use them purposefully in my artwork.
I will translate my hand-drawn sketches into vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator.
I will master key Illustrator tools including the Pen Tool, Pencil Tool, Curvature Tool, Width Tool, Type Tool, and Clipping Masks to build and enhance my designs.
I will apply the elements of design (line, shape, texture, size, value, color) in my digital compositions.
I will practice nondestructive editing using layers, masks, and smart techniques to maintain flexibility in my workflow.
I will explore typography and type formatting as part of my graphic design.
I will organize my work process from sketch to digital artwork using a professional workflow.
I will prepare my artwork using the correct file formats and settings for its intended output (print or digital).
