4 DIFFERENT frames
50 Original Images (these are UNEDITED)
50 edits (25 Black and White + 25 Color )
4 Final Images (1 from EACH frame)
Follow the tutorial on how to adjust the following on 4 images:
Black and White ( Image --> Mode --> Greyscale--> Discard Color Information--> Click on Image --> Adjustments --> Levels and move the carrots accordingly)
High Contrast (Image --> Mode --> Greyscale --> Image --> Adjustment --> Levels --> Adjust your histogram levels to create mostly black and white image)
Color Enhancement (Image --> adjustment --> levels --> hit OK --> image --> adjustments --> Vibrance --> Adjust the vibrance and saturation levels)
Color Manipulation (Image --> Adjustment --> Black and White --> Select the check box next to TINT --> Change the color --> Adjust the saturation/intensity of the color)
Make sure you're cropping EVERY picture as well. To lock in the dimensions for that keep it to be 8x12 (portrait orientation) or 12x8 (landscape orientation)
Use these four photos and edit them all in Black and White, High Contrast, Color Enhancement, and Color Manipulation: Go to this folder and download the four photos
Make sure to File --> Save A Copy --> Save in the correct folder and save as type as JPEG not jpeg stereo or 2000.
You should have been asked to bring your camera to class. This is what you're doing with it:
Follow the examples to the side using YOUR OWN camera.
I want you to draw the top of your camera noting what button does what (this means press each button and figure out what it does, write down what it is doing)
Then draw the left side of your camera showing the side of the lens and what the buttons on the side of the lens do (this means press each button and figure out what it does, write down what it is doing)
And last but not least, draw the back of your camera. Drawing the buttons and everything. When you turn on your camera and hit the button, what is the new menu setting called? Write EVERY thing down. I want this part VERY VERY detailed. (this means press each button and figure out what it does, write down what it is doing)
Students will understand and apply the compositional technique of framing to enhance their photographs, using elements within the scene to create a visual boundary that directs attention/emphasizes the subject.
I will define framing as a compositional technique that uses elements within the scene to create a frame around the subject.
I will identify various framing techniques, such as using doorways, windows, branches, or arches, to isolate and emphasize the main subject.
I will experiment with framing in my photography, applying different techniques to see how they affect the focus and depth of my images.
I will evaluate the effectiveness of framing in my photographs by considering how well it directs the viewer's attention and adds depth to the composition.
I will reflect on the impact of framing on the overall aesthetic and storytelling of my photographs.
3.3.1 Identify and apply guidelines for composition (e.g. simplicity, rule of thirds, point of view, focal point, proportion/scale, framing, etc.)
3.4.1 Communicate a specific idea or narrative through photographic imagery
4.1.4 Demonstrate proper handling of a digital camera
5.1.1 Describe and utilize the basic elements of exposure (e.g., ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.)
Students will apply these skills with proper camera's that are either supplied by themselves or by the teacher. They will then demonstrate their photoshop skills in class in Adobe Photoshop
