Let's look at different ways we can Collage: COLLAGE
Then go ahead and take photos up to 24 images
Then follow along with the tutorial to the left and create ONE final collage
New document in Photoshop, make the canvas 100 inches by 100 inches
Now place the photos on the canvas following one of the approaches shown in class
Once you're done, go to layer--> merge layers (merge down, merge visible, flatten image)
Then crop any of the white space away from the photo.
File -->Save a Copy --> Save as JPG and turn in here.
Students will explore the interplay of light and shadow to emphasize subjects in their photographs, understanding how lighting can transform a composition. Additionally, they will develop skills in Adobe Photoshop to create layered collages, enhancing their images with creative effects.
I will understand the role of light and shadow in photography, learning how different lighting conditions can highlight or obscure elements within a composition.
I will experiment with various lighting setups, such as side lighting, backlighting, and diffused light, to observe their effects on shadows and subject emphasis.
I will apply techniques to control shadows, using reflectors or diffusers to manipulate light and achieve desired contrasts.
I will capture images that utilize shadows creatively, incorporating them to add depth, texture, and interest to my photographs.
I will learn to blend multiple images in Photoshop, using layer masks and blending modes to create cohesive collages.
I will apply adjustments to enhance my collages, such as color correction, opacity changes, and layer effects, to achieve a unified artistic vision.
I will evaluate the effectiveness of light and shadow in my photographs, considering how well they contribute to the emphasis and mood of the image.
I will reflect on the creative choices made during both the shooting and editing processes, assessing their impact on the final composition.
3.3.1 Identify and apply guidelines for composition (e.g. simplicity, rule of thirds, point of view, focal point, proportion/scale, framing, etc.)
3.4.1 Communicate a specific idea or narrative through photographic imagery
4.1.4 Demonstrate proper handling of a digital camera
4.1.5 Navigate menus of digital cameras
5.1.1 Describe and utilize the basic elements of exposure (e.g., ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.)
7.2.3 Demonstrate digital manipulation (e.g., layers, layer mask, etc.)
7.2.1 Demonstrate understanding of global and local image enhancements using digital imaging software
7.2.5 Apply image adjustments (e.g., levels, curves, contrast, etc.)
Students will apply these skills with proper camera's that are either supplied by themselves or by the teacher. They will then demonstrate their photoshop skills in class in Adobe Photoshop
