Student Examples
Students will learn how to effectively photograph products by experimenting with different lighting techniques, compositions, and setups. They will work with flat lays, 3D product arrangements, and e-commerce-style photography to highlight the product's features and appeal to potential customers.
I will experiment with different lighting setups to properly illuminate products, using both natural and artificial light sources to enhance textures and details.
I will apply composition rules such as balance, the rule of thirds, and leading lines to ensure the product is the focal point of the image.
I will create flat lay setups, focusing on the arrangement and styling of products to make them visually appealing in a top-down view.
I will work with 3D setups, positioning products in ways that highlight their features while keeping the composition visually interesting.
I will learn how to create e-commerce product shots, ensuring clarity, consistency, and focus on the product’s key details for online stores.
I will apply storytelling techniques to product photography by considering how to convey the product’s use or context through lighting, props, and the overall setup.
I will adjust my photos in Photoshop or Lightroom, fine-tuning exposure, color balance, and sharpness to create professional, polished product images.
I will reflect on how lighting and composition affect the perceived quality of a product and how these elements influence consumer decisions.
I will present my final product photos and explain how I used creative and technical skills to capture the product in a way that highlights its best features.
